No firearm may be handled while the range is clear.Do not step forward of the firing line until the officer has given permission.Pistols must be placed on the firing table unloaded with magazines removed and slides locked back or cylinders swung open. When the range officer clears the range, all rifles must be unloaded and placed in the gun rack with the actions open.Muzzleloaders may not be capped until they are pointed downrange. Firearms are to remain unloaded until the muzzle is pointed downrange in the ready-to-fire position.One rifle at a time may be fired or placed on bench.

  • Two shooters are allowed at each rifle bench.
  • Disruptive behavior or inappropriate language is prohibited and may result in the loss of range privileges.
  • Shooters must return all equipment to the range building before leaving.
  • Guests are liable for damage they cause to AGFC property.
  • People who have been drinking are barred from shooting.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed on firing range property.
  • Rapid fire (one shot fired per second or faster) is prohibited.
  • Shooters under 16 must stay within an arm’s reach of an adult while on the firing line.
  • Shooters are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
  • Individuals under the age of 6 are not permitted on the firing line or inside the chain-link fence.
  • Non-shooters must remain behind the chain-link fence at the firing line.
  • Shooters must register with the range officer before going to the firing line.
  • Firearms must be handled in a responsible manner at all times.
  • No firearms are allowed in the range house without the range officer’s permission.
  • Removable magazines may be loaded as long as they are secured/locked separate from the firearm.

    According to AGFC Code 19.01 firearms shall be considered to be loaded if shells or cartridges are in the chamber, cylinder or magazine. Anyone who brings loaded firearms to the range will be barred from shooting for one business day and may be cited.Individuals less than 6 years of age are not permitted on the firing line or inside the chain link fence. The range accepts cash or check, but no credit or debit cards, for payment. Spotting scopes are available for rent for $2. 3-D archery is free, although archers must register in the range house prior to shooting. Fees are $3 per person for pistol and rifle ranges and $4 per 25-shot round for skeet and trap. The facility offers a 50-yard pistol range, a 200-yard rifle range, skeet, trap and 3-D archery ranges.     The range may be closed for state holidays, foul weather, special events or other circumstances that may prevent the safe operation of the firing range. Shooting guests must register no later than 3:45 p.m.
